In 2010 Vicentico scored an unexpected multi-platinum success with Sólo un Momento, an album that found the former Fabulosos Cadillacs leader moving away from Latin pop and into 1960s bubblegum pop. Its 2012 successor, 5 (curiously named with the exact same title as the Fabulosos Cadillacs' fifth album), mines pretty much the exact same terrain. Cachorro López is back at the helm for another set of melodic, simple tunes set to basic guitar/bass/drums arrangements, with some keyboards in the background thrown in for mood. Mood may be the main difference between Sólo un Momento and 5, as the latter is distinctly sunnier. In fact, its first two songs, lead single "Creo Que Me Enamoré" and "No Te Apartes de Mí," are probably the finest and catchiest of both records, setting the tone for an album made almost entirely of seriously pretty love songs that grow with every new listening. Actress Valeria Bertuccelli (Vicentico's wife) joins for two of the sweetest moments, the aforementioned "No Te Apartes de Mí" and "Esto de Quererte," providing a hushed boy-girl contrast reminiscent of the songs of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra. In another highlight, Vicentico puts the hurt on a surprisingly effective Spanish version of ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All" by stripping away its ornate grandiosity and turning it into an acoustic guitar ballad. It ranks among the singer's best vocal performances to date. Overall in 5, Vicentico continues to do as he pleases at the risk of confusing his fan base -- his latter-day mainstream Latin-American audience will not find much to dance to in this album, and the rock/ska/punk crowd to which he originally belonged is not going to welcome the prodigal son with open arms if he insists on covering acts such as ABBA, Roberto Carlos, and Xuxa all in the same album -- but hey, so far it has worked wonders for his solo career, both in commercial and artistic terms. ---Mariano Prunes, AllMusic Review

Gabriel Julio Fernández Capello "Vicentico" (24 de julio de 1964, Buenos Aires, Argentina) es un músico y compositor de nacionalidad argentina. Cofundador y vocalista de la banda Los Fabulosos Cadillacs junto con Flavio Cianciarulo. Perteneció a esta agrupación desde su creación en 1984 hasta el año 2001, cuando comenzó su carrera como solista. Está casado con la actriz argentina Valeria Bertuccelli, con quien tiene dos hijos.

En Vicentico, su primer disco solista, Vicentico se manifiesta con una serie interminable de ritmos, que van desde lo “fabuloso”, pasando por la bossa nova, lo gitano, y las baladas. Los tambores muy presentes en casi todo el disco le dan a la voz de Vicentico una identidad única. Logrando de ésta manera un álbum excepcional que cuenta con 12 temas, de los cuales 11 son de su autoría.

“Se despierta la ciudad” elegido como el primer single, logra la fuerza que cualquier intérprete querría para sí mismo; es un cachetazo de realidad. “Básicamente habla del pánico que se vive en la ciudad y de cómo muchas veces en medio de esta gran incongruencia que vivimos, todo empieza a confundirse y no se sabe bien quién es la víctima y quién el victimario. Y no está claro si el que roba es un zarpado o un pobre tipo al que no le queda otra. De pronto ves que un hombre grande que va en un auto sube los cristales y traba las puertas por miedo cuando en un semáforo se le acerca un nenito de cinco años”.

Para Los rayos, su segunda producción, lo acompañan: * Dani Buira (batería y percusión), * Daniel Castro (bajo y contrabajo), * Marcelo Muir (guitarras y coros), * Juampi Di Saverio (coros), Y una sección de vientos integrada por: * Ervin Stutz (trompeta, fliscorno y trombón), * Alejo von der Pahlen (saxo soprano, alto, tenor, barítono y flauta) y * Juan Scalona (trombón), más la participación especial de * Flavio Cianciarulo con su bajo en Tiburón y * Julieta Venegas en voz y acordeón a piano en El tonto.

El tercer álbum solista fue Los pájaros (2006). Con la producción del mismo Vicentico, contó como invitados con Andrés Calamaro, Gringui Herrera, Lucho González, Daniel Melingo, Florián Fernández Capello, Flavio Cianciarulo y Valentino. En el 2010 se anunció la publicaciòn del cuarto albùm de estudio titulado Solo un momento, del cual se desprende su primer sencillo del mismo nombre. El álbum se editará en simultáneo en: España, Perú, México, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Chile, Uruguay, Centro América y Estados Unidos.

Gabriel Julio Fernández Capello (born July 24, 1964(1964-07-24) in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a musician and composer better known by his stage name Vicentico. Co-founder and vocalist of the band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs along with Flavio Cianciarulo. He was part of the group since its creation in 1984 to the year 2001, when he began a solo career as a singer. Solo un Momento (Only a Moment) (2010) is his fourth album. The Allmusic review by Mariano Prunes awarded the album 3.5 stars stating "Vicentico's fourth solo album Solo un Momento marks a stylistic departure from the Latin path in which he seemed so firmly entrenched by now, either as a solo artist or as the singer of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs... This is the first Vicentico production that does not feature horns and percussion, and the effect is initially quite strange. Above all, Solo un Momento comes off as a very somber album... Furthermore, the main problem with going back to a stripped-to-basics pop song format is that in order to stand out you need either a brilliant melody, lyric, or vocal performance, and while Vicentico has become quite accomplished at all of the above, he is not quite one of the true greats. Precisely for this reason, the value of Solo un Momento lies in its impressive artistic coherence more than in its individual moments"
