Adam Mitchel Lambert (ur. 29 stycznia 1982 w Indianapolis, Indiana) – amerykański piosenkarz, autor tekstów piosenek, aktor z San Diego. W maju 2009 roku zdobył drugie miejsce w ósmej edycji American Idol. 23 listopada 2009 roku wydał swój debiutancki album For Your Entertainment. Płyta zadebiutowała na 3. miejscu listy Billboard 200. Album sprzedał się w nakładzie ponad 1 000 000 egzemplarzy na calym swiecie. Od czerwca 2010 ruszyła trasa koncertowa Adama pod nazwa "Glam Nation Tour". Towarzyszy mu Allison Iraheta (która była 4 w 8 edycji Idola) oraz Orianthi. Jak dotąd zdobywa same dobre recenzje, Lambert dokłada wszelkich starań by jego występy były "niezapomnianym show" w klimacie glam rocka. Trasa zakończyła się 16.12.2010 w Nokia Club w LA. Łącznie z festiwalami Lambert zagrał 113 koncertów; zarówno w Ameryce jak i Japonii, Niemczech, Francji, Anglii, Szkocji itd. z czego większość koncertów była wyprzedana. Adam Lambert został nominowany do Grammy 2011 w kategorii "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance" za piosenkę "Whataya Want From Me"jednak - zgodnie z przewidywaniami ekspertów - nagrodę tą otrzymał Bruno Mars za utwór Just The Way You Are.

Adam Mitchel Lambert (born January 29, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor from San Diego, California. In May 2009, he finished as the runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol. The Times identified Lambert as one of the few openly gay mainstream pop artists to launch a career on a major label in the United States. Lambert released his debut album, For Your Entertainment, in November 2009, via RCA Records/19 Recordings. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 in December 2009, selling 198,000 copies in the United States in the first week. In 2010, Lambert was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Whataya Want from Me". February 27, 2010 Lambert performed his first official solo concert, held at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. He appeared on American Idol as a guest mentor in an episode airing April 13, 2010. In June 2010, he won the UR Fave: International Video award at the MuchMusic Video Awards. Adam Lambert kicked off his first solo tour on June 4, 2010. The Glam Nation Tour went throughout the United States with Allison Iraheta and Orianthi. In fall 2010, he took the Glam Nation Tour internationally.

On December 6, 2010, Lambert released an acoustic EP, titled Acoustic Live!, recorded in various countries. He also announced that he is already working on his second album and that is expected to be released in 2011. In February 2011 Lambert admitted on Entertainment Tonight Canada that he was dating someone, not mentioning his name. Finnish tabloid Iltasanomat covered several stories about Lambert being seen with Finnish reality TV personality Sauli Koskinen, who won the Finnish reality TV show Big Brother in 2007. In December 2010, Iltasanomat speculated the two had been together in Paris, since they were both there at the same time and, in an interview to another newspaper, Adam Lambert told the vacation in Paris was "very romantic". Koskinen was in Los Angeles in January 2011. The two have also been seen together at Disneyland and in Bora Bora in February 2011.

Adam Lambert shakes off the shackles of the past by returning to his roots on The Original High. No longer with RCA, the label who signed him in the wake of American Idol, Lambert seizes this freedom by reuniting with producers Max Martin and Shellback, the team who gave him his big 2009 hit "Whataya Want from Me," but this is by no means a throwback. Martin and Shellback remain fixtures at the top of the pop charts -- they were instrumental collaborators on Taylor Swift's 1989, the biggest album of 2014 -- and they're a comfortable, stylish fit for the clever Lambert, a singer as comfortable with a glam-disco past as he is an EDM present. The Original High cannily synthesizes these two sides of Lambert, an intersection made explicit on "Lucy," where Adam sings about "diamond dogs" while his Queen bandmate Brian May lays down lead guitar over a crawling electro-beat. Elsewhere, Lambert ratchets up either the rock or the dance, but usually favors the latter, sometimes sliding into full-bore glitter ball territory -- "The Original High," where the beat slowly modulates from disco into EDM and the bonus "These Boys," which shamelessly appropriates the polyester styles of the '70s -- but usually finding an expert balance between pulsating rhythms and gleaming surfaces, not to mention insidiously ingratiating pop hooks. This emphasis on the hook and tune distinguishes The Original High, a record where Martin and Shellback's production, like Adam's soaring vocals, is in service of the song. Although the album can linger on moody noir a little too long -- the lightest material is squired away on the three bonus tracks, each an effervescent delight -- the individual components work on their own merits, whether it's the steely clatter of the Tove Lo duet "Rumours," the elegantly skeletal cinemascapes of "Ghost Town," or the cleanly constructed lines of "Things I Didn't Say." Adam Lambert zasłynął jako finalista amerykańskiego "Idola" i wykonawca przeboju "Whataya Want from Me". Kiedy nadszedł czas, żeby utwór "Whataya Want from Me" ustąpił miejsca przebojom innych artystów, przyszłość Lamberta stanęła pod znakiem zapytania. Wydał jeszcze jeden krążek w wytwórni RCA, ale o żadnym kawałku z "Trespassing" nie było specjalnie głośno. Finalista "Idola" miał szczęście - został wokalistą legendarnego zespołu Queen, z którym w tym roku zawitał nawet do Polski. Presja, jaka na nim ciążyła, wzrosła jeszcze bardziej, ale najwyraźniej tylko go zmotywowała. Gdy został poproszony przez swoją wytwórnię o nagranie płyty z coverami przebojów z lat 80., przeniósł się do Warner Bros. i zamiast tego stworzył płytę z popowymi hymnami.

Singiel promujący "The Original High" to "Ghost Town", piosenka, która opanowała stacje radiowe na całym świecie. Na sam początek Lambert zaserwował słuchaczom muzyczną niespodziankę - kiedy już przekonał ich, że pierwsza piosenka na krążku to ballada, zaprezentował... house! To świetna zapowiedź tego, co usłyszymy na płycie - dużo synthowych, wpadających w ucho partii zmieszanych z pełnymi emocji, zwykle przygnębiającymi tekstami i oczywiście genialnym wokalem.

Do lepszych piosenek na "The Original High" należą "Another Light", "The Light" i kawałek tytułowy - wszystkie utrzymane w tym samym klimacie, co "Ghost Town". Na "Trespassing" Lambert szukał jeszcze swojego stylu. Teraz pokazuje, że go znalazł, ale sam chyba jeszcze nie do końca zdaje sobie z tego sprawę, bo cały krążek nie jest tak dobry, jak mógłby być, gdyby wokalista skupił się na brzmieniu, które do niego pasuje.

Największy minus "The Original High" to teksty, zbyt banalne i zabawne w swoim dramatyzmie. "Nie będę cię już przepraszał, bo jestem dorosłym facetem i nie rozumiem, dlaczego miałbym dalej żyć w cieniu" - śpiewa Lambert w "There I Said It", najgorszym kawałku na płycie, który ratuje tylko wokal Adama. Te słowa pokazują jednak, jak daleko zaszedł wokalista. It’s been a long time coming for Adam Lambert’s Trespassing album release, but definitely worth the wait! Although originally slated to drop last November, Adam took an extra few months to go in a different, funkier direction and to fine-tune it to perfection. The result shows that he has succeeded in his quest. The album comes chock full of obvious hits, including funky, up-beat dance tunes that rival any pop songs currently topping the charts. There are also ballads that will have listeners near tears, with haunting lyrics and gut-wrenching, soulful cries. All of the songs are relatable, regardless of age, race, gender or sexuality.

Recently Adam described the album, saying, “It’s been a transformative period and I really wanted to make music from what I’ve experienced. All these songs honestly explore the ups and downs of my reality.” The songs do just that, including “ups” such as the partying and fun portrayed in Shady to the “downs” shown in his frustrations depicted in the lyrics of Outlaws of Love.

Fans have already heard snippets of all 15 songs on the Trespassing Deluxe Edition, however, the full tracks are even better, providing more funky electronic sounds and beautiful harmonies. Adam has reason to be proud of the album, not only is he the Executive Producer, but he also co-wrote on 12 of the 15 tracks. Many heavy-hitters in the music industry were also involved, as Adam collaborated with an all-star list of award winning artists, producers and songwriters including Pharrell Williams, Claude Kelly, Benny Blanco, Bonnie McKee, Nile Rogers, Sam Sparro, Dr. Luke and Bruno Mars. --- Renee Snyder, musicboxmix.net
