I guess Denmark is like Sweden because there isn’t much rock on the radio here, unless you surf the waves on the interweb rather than the radio waves. Then again, not many have internet waves in their cars yet, and the title track would actually be a brilliant track for the radio. In my car stereo I have played this one a few times and it is very strong driving music, good tempo, good energy and good songs, but now there will be other songs in the car stereo – but before that I will write down a few words about this album called Rock’n’Roll Radio.

I don’t think anyone will be surprised if I write that the electric guitar plays a rather big role in the music of this album, and neither will they be surprised when I write that it is classic rock music that is simple and straight to the point without any bullshit. Fans of good old-fashioned rock music should really find this most pleasing. The production and vocals are strong, the choruses catchy and everything is laid out in the most expected fashion. Decent variation over ten tracks and 48 minutes is another things the purchaser of this album will receive.

I would have bought the LP if the album cover had looked better, as I think that it is a good album with some great tracks – especially the title track. That is a track that would do well, and it is strange that they didn’t use that as an advance single. Though the single Headless Chicken is rather great as well. I think the album will go down well with buyers, but one can be critical as well. Firstly the album isn’t exactly fresh and it offers no real surprises, we have heard it before – and it starts a lot better than it ends, something that makes the end result somewhere around average.

The best songs on this album are great and if you are just looking for some no-nonsense rock’n’roll it is really a strong album, one I recommend to the genre fans. I kind of like it, it is good but it doesn’t offer anything we haven’t heard before so I wouldn’t describe it as one of the most interesting albums I have heard. Still, it is certainly good enough to give a spin in the old record player. ---Daniel Källmalm, hallowed.se

download (mp3 @320 kbs):

yandex mediafire uloz.to cloudmailru gett

back

Electric Guitars - Rock'n'roll Radio (2017)

<img src="http://theblues-thatjazz.com/ObrMuz/Rock/ElectricGuitars/radio.jpg" border="0" alt="Image could not be displayed. I was very apprehensive at the beginning to be perfectly honest. I was not expecting much but this album surprised me in a lot of ways. The production was pretty good and a lot of their songs are quite diverse.

They can do straight up Rock and Roll reminiscent of legends like JIMI HENDRIX, STEVIE RAY VAUGHN, VAN HALEN and AC/DC (on “String Fever”, “Let it Rock” and on “Running Out of Time”) but on other songs they also delve into genres like Southern Rock and sound an awful like LYNYRD SKYNYRD (“White Flag”).

This band is from Denmark, which is something I would not have figured. They sound very American! The influences of the band are straight from the 70’s and 80’s Rock scene. The vocals may be the weakest point of the band; they sounds like a stripped down version of CHRIS CORNELL, though you don’t have that raw emotion and that acrimony associated with him.

Nonetheless, the vocals do fit very well with the rest of the music. If I could compare this band to any other band it would be the now defunct GYPSYHAWK; a very guitar oriented band with a lot of influences from the forefathers of Guitar Rock. They also have some Blues influences, as on “Follow Your Heart”, which reminded me a lot of COLIN JAMES - a very important Blues Rocker here in Canada.

The use of the good old Talk-Box was a very nice touch (PETER FRAMPTON represent!) on “The Man From Outer Space” and “She Wants My Guitar”. The latter song is very funny and there are plenty of sexual innuendos in the lyrics. I think this song should translate very well live on stage!

Two of the weakest songs on the album are the very commercially driven “Girlfriend” and “The Thinner The Eyebrows The Crazier The Woman”. The aformentioned “Girlfriend…” could have been a mid 90’s or early 2000’s commercial hit from bands like JIMMY EAT WORLD and dare I say BLINK 182. It’s a poor choice of a song unfortunately. As to the other songs, this could play on Classic Rock Stations around North America like CHOM in Montreal or Q107 in Toronto. It sounds like some RIVAL SONS and even if it’s pretty commercial, it’s decent enough.

If you like straight up Rock and Roll with no compromise, this is the band for you. Even with a subpar vocalist, it’s still a pretty good album with some wicked guitar licks that make you think of SANTANA. Overall, a solid effort from the boys from Denmark. ---Johnny Jackal, metal-temple.com

download (mp3 @320 kbs):

yandex mediafire uloz.to cloudmailru gett

back

Electric Guitars - String Fever (2015)

<img src="http://theblues-thatjazz.com/ObrMuz/Rock/ElectricGuitars/string.jpg" border="0" alt="Image could not be displayed.
