Velma Powell is one of the great blues voices of the moment. This singer, a relative of the great John Lee Hooker as well as Brownie McGee, is touring her latest album, Step Into The Blues. This is the first record Velma Powell has released with her own songs, produced and published in Spain under the supervision of Francisco Simón. Sugar is the first single taken from the album.

Accompanied by the Bluedays, she has a classic repertoire that spans the 40s, 50s and 60s, with a clear fondness for the Chicago Blues style.

In her career in Spain, Powell has worked on records with the Vargas Blues Band and La Orquesta Mondragón. --- nspmania.com
